growing up really is part and parcel of our lives...

i just came back from a secondary class gathering
though only 6 out of the 40 turned up
we managed to update one another about our current doings
and fill in as much information as we can about others

secondary school wad i recall
was about calling each other nicknames
being lame and the 'hero' in class
and showing off whatever we have

it was really lots of fun giving one another nicknames
Audrey as 'or qui' (as in tortoise) not only because of her name
but more so cause she was always a little slower in reaction
KitMun as 'plasma tv' for her still flat as ever face
Alexius as 'xiao bai' after his chinese surname
ChorPeng always showed off his muscles on his hands
WeiZun was always disturbed for his pronunciation
zero as 'jilo' and milk as 'mulk'
and the list goes on
no one was left out
but i guess everyone has grown up...

most of the guys have served their national service
well some of them like me are in the midst of serving it
ChorPeng became your friendly neighbourhood policemen
i guess he can put those muscles to good use
CheeWen as the guy i noe from secondary was always playful yet fun to be with
and now he's on his way training to become an Officer in the army
i just can't imagine me saluting him when i see him next time
Jackson became a commando
that came as a surprise too initially

it was also comforting to hear that
most of those who gave up on their studies initially
are back to mainstream education
WeiZun moved on from ITE to getting his Diploma now
LiYun who quit school is pursuing her Diploma too
Clarissa just graduated with a Diploma and is working in a restaurant now

and a handful started their own family and got married
like Margaret who became a mother of a cute 2 year old

it's been fun catching up with all of them
i never tot sitting down again with one another
at another place in another time could be so fulfilling

as we took a step back and looked into our past
we found much laughter and joy
many were memories we'll always keep close to us
while the not so great times were all left behind
having the common understanding that whatever we did in the past
especially the not so good stuff were unintentional
and we were just too young at that time

growing up...
i'm beginning to love this process

i was smiling as i climbed the stairs up back to my room

its been a long and fulfilling day
things i had set out to do today:
1. iron formation badge onto smart 4
2. meet up with the kestralians
3. level 38 in dragonica
4. go chevron buy the new safac shirt and more admin shirts
5. buy the latest comics
6. have dinner with mom
at least i managed to clear half of the stuff i had planned
honestly i never tot i would have done so much in a day
so i guess the rest are brought forward to tmr den

oh and everyone seem to be too busy for me today
or should i say they're busy when i'm looking for them
and i've got something to do when they eventually call me back

first was fushun
ask me to hold the phone and the next thing i noe
it went off... dead... wtf!!!
and it happened too with marx
looked for me on msn, asked if i was busy
but the next thing i noe he went to bathe... dotz...
guess i can only trust my comics and mp3 to keep me company
as least they are always loyal... haha
maybe i should forgive marx
at least he made me laugh today

wad a long fulfilling day indeed
i woke up around 9am
started off the day with 98.7fm whilest on the phone with fu shun
played dragonica half of the morning
went ikea, bought a new chair and lots of other stuff
eventually went out to watch julie & julia with my parents
and ended the day with a great at ah yat seafood restuarant

i really loved the movie
it had alot of lessons to share
from giving life our 100%
to complete everything we start
to treasure the people and things around us
the best thing i like about it was that
the movie was relatively slow in pace and
allowed room for your thoughts to process
no wonder the 5 star rating i guess...

for now
i'm looking forward to tmr's bbq gathering at my place
will be sure to post some photos den

somehow i missed out fushun when i thanked everyone in my previous post
so i decided to delicate this entire post to him
if not he will get angry ar

all the 'thank you's you deserve
for all the morning calls early in the morning
for all the phone calls and msges just to make sure i dun go back to sleep again
for all the chit chats and small talks
for all the fun and laughter you always bring
for all the times you initiated and make something happen

aiya too many liao lah lazy to list all haha

it's the rare times in life when you just know someone's a great friend and companion

its been official
i just recieved my new posting to my unit
as much as i'm excited abt wad lays ahead
it's always hard on me when it comes to goodbyes

it've not been very long
in fact only 3 weeks of our lives
but the friendships that have forged
and memories will forever be remembered

wonderful times always pass the fastest
but i'm glad the memories stay for life
thanks for coming into my life
and being such a great friend
trust me you guys are a bunch of fantastic people
i hope you enjoyed my company as much as much i did yours

seriously...
looking forward to the BBQ session at my place coming sunday!

things to look forward to in the coming months =P
1. 2010!!! -> means 1.5 years more to ORD!!!
2. 6 days of leave left (need to clear soon, coz can't bring forward)
3. xiao long bao buffet at holland v with bong
4. sakura buffet with wilson, qing yuan all
5. kuishin bo dinner with kestral section mates (need to plan soon)
6. jb trip with wee kiat and gang
so that makes 2 down 4 more to go!!!

it started off as 10 that week
but eventually numbers went down
some made their own plans
others had other priorities and things to attend to
haha but nonetheless we all enjoyed ourselves

special thanks for the occasion:

lucky to be in a 8 to 5 unit
gives me time to consider aspects in life
take a step forward and give some thoughts about my life
i'm considering studying part time
get a degree before about the same time i'm out of army
that will be good right haha

looking around for good courses
even asked friends to get me brochures
i'm really determined to do it

life in unit now is getting better
yes i do have alot of tests that tend to stress me out
but i also get to enjoy time with new friends i made over there
proves to me that there are really alot of approachable people around

woah but one thing damn sad
people telling me i'm gaining weight again!!!
wad the hell!!! work so hard in bmt
now in 8 to 5 unit den like that liao. haiz...
guess i'll need to put in a little more effort
no more heavy breakfast.. (sorry ninja uncle!)
and stay with my weekly swimming routine!!! haha
